We spent a couple of days on site in Epping, Victoria, Australia in March helping out at the first Carpentry Australia Helping Hand Day of 2024.
For one of Carpentry Australia’s Helping Hand Days, carpenters from all over come together to lend their expertise and support for a variety of community projects.
The projects vary from repairing homes, building structures, or renovating spaces, all with the goal to lend a helping hand to those who need it most.
During this particular Helping Hand Day, we participated in a full outdoor space renovation for Noreen, a member of the community who has spent over 40 years volunteering with the St Vincent de Paul Society, helping others in need.
The outdoor revamp included a rebuild of the existing carport, a brand new fence, and a large wraparound patio deck for Noreen.
To support this project, Ekodeck supplied about 700lm of our Designer Series composite decking in the Leatherwood colour to help complete the full backyard renovation for Noreen.
When Carpentry Australia reached out to us to see if we were interested in helping out, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to help provide a low-maintenance and sustainable option for Noreen’s backyard transformation – benefiting someone who has dedicated her life to helping others.
With so many people helping out, and having one of the biggest track saws we’ve ever seen on hand, the deck got finished in a few days, and looks fantastic!
A big special thanks to everyone that helped out, in particular Carpentry Australia for organising the whole thing, Sunrise and to all the carpenters that lent their expertise – Beaumade Builds, SJ Carpentry Services, Habitat Carpenters, SMD Projects, Limitless Build, Canavan Constructions and Jenkinson Building, and to Accomplice Media for filming.
