The apartment building spans 34 floors and has 131 apartments offering lavish design and panoramic views across the coastal city through floor to ceiling windows.
Designed by WOHA Architecture, the landmark skyscraper (completed in 2010) has a high reputation to maintain – with premium design features and opulent living promised and expected.
But there was just one problem. The timber deck, which spanned three floors, had become so worn it was deemed dangerous, and it cost the body corporate over $20,000 a year to maintain.
Needing to replace the timber decking in haste, The Hyde searched for a highly dependable and readily available composite decking solution that would be low maintenance, long-lasting and elegant to maintain the grandeur of the building.
After comparing the options, they chose the Ekodeck Designer Series in Estate Brown to provide warmth and a natural ambience to the existing colour scheme.
None other than the team at Monumental Building Group were tasked with the job of turning this vast deck around, with limited access given Sydney’s CBD, it was no easy feat.
